Mr Mick' is an impressive range of wines by Tim Adams; one of Australia's most talented winemakers. The range is named in honour of K.H Knappstein; a legend of Australian wine and a former mentor of Tim Adams.
This wine celebrates the enduring partnership of 'Mr Mick' and Gela Knappstein in life and love. When Tim Adams asked Mr Mick’s wife if he could name the Blanc de Blanc after her, she simply replied, “yes, as long as you make it from Riesling!”
The Mr Mick 'Gela' Cuvee Brut Sparkling is made from Riesling grapes harvested from the “Rogers” vineyard 5 km NE of Clare. It was cold fermented and then secondarily fermented under pressure before bottling. The wine has fresh apple and citrus aromas with savoury yeast complexity and a delicate bead; extremely approachable this is a versatile sparkling wine of enormous appeal.
