The 2018 Mr Mick Grenache is an 'easy drinking' fruit-forward style with plenty of juicy red berry fruit flavours, a hint of varietal Grenache spice and soft, subtle tannin. Another delicious red from 'Mr Mick' that offers super value for money drinking.
"Clare Valley grenache at a snip of a price. The thing here is that it’s bright and juicy. Clare Valley grenache is often neither; it’s often dull and plodding. This wine offers a mouthful of jubey raspberries and anise but also a strike of dry, orange-flecked spice. It has tannin too, tense and dry. It’s light but it’s a good wine. In addition to the wines under the Tim Adams label, Tim Adams launched the 'Mr Mick' range of wines following the purchase of the famous Leasingham winery. This range is named in honour of K.H Knappstein aka 'Mr Mick'; a legend of Australian wine and a former mentor of Tim Adams. These wines offer fine examples of the varieties Tim and the Clare Valley do best along with some emerging, less conventional varietals.
Some current standouts in the Mr Mick range include their Vermentino, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Cabernet Merlot, Shiraz along with a very impressive Tempranillo - these all offer approachable, flavoursome styles at very reasonable prices.
