The 2019 Mr Mick Pinot Grigio follows both this philosophy as well as that of the rest of the range, an easy-going' wine that creates interest and satisfies many palates. Like most Italian varieties, Pinot Grigio suits a broad array of cuisine.
"The climate and soils of the Limestone Coast wine region enable us to produce Pinot Grigio very similar to the grape's origin in Italy. Grapes were harvested at their peak flavour maturity from a single vineyard in the south Australia Limestone Coast wine region. The juice was separated from skins, carefully transported home to Clare, cold settled and fermented for 14 days. A steady cool ferment ensures a focused palate with maximum Grigio fruit expression. It is great wine just to enjoy on its own, or as an apertif or will pair well with a varied range of food, particularly with spicy dishes or seafood!" - Tim Adams.
In addition to the wines under the Tim Adams label, Tim Adams launched the 'Mr Mick' range of wines following the purchase of the famous Leasingham winery. This range is named in honour of K.H Knappstein aka 'Mr Mick'; a legend of Australian wine and a former mentor of Tim Adams. These wines offer fine examples of the varieties Tim and the Clare Valley do best along with some emerging, less conventional varietals.
Some current standouts in the Mr Mick range include their Vermentino, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Cabernet Merlot, Shiraz along with a very impressive Tempranillo - these all offer approachable, flavoursome styles at very reasonable prices.
