Mr Mick' is a range of wines created by Tim Adams following his purchase of the historic Leasingham winery in the heart of the Clare Valley. The range is named in honour of winemaking legend 'Mick' Knappstein; a mentor of Tim's during his apprentice days at Leasingham.
The 2017 Mr Mick Shiraz is another super drinking Clare Valley Shiraz from Tim Adams that's attracted plenty of recent of interest - at this special price it would be hard to find a better value Clare Shiraz.
"Clare Valley shiraz. Released as a three-year-old, at $17. There’s so much clovey spice here that it almost smells/tastes peppery. It’s a warm, toasty shiraz with redcurrant and coffee flavours flowing sweetly throughout. Likeable is the word. It’s very likeable. Choc-mint characters run attractively through the warmth of the finish. Good value here. 89 Points Tasted: Dec20 14.8% alc. $17 Screwcap Drink: 2020 - 2025"- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
In addition to the wines under the Tim Adams label, Tim Adams launched the 'Mr Mick' range of wines following the purchase of the famous Leasingham winery. This range is named in honour of K.H Knappstein aka 'Mr Mick'; a legend of Australian wine and a former mentor of Tim Adams. These wines offer fine examples of the varieties Tim and the Clare Valley do best along with some emerging, less conventional varietals.
Some current standouts in the Mr Mick range include their Vermentino, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Cabernet Merlot, Shiraz along with a very impressive Tempranillo - these all offer approachable, flavoursome styles at very reasonable prices.
