Mr Mick is an enormously popular range of wines made by the highly acclaimed Tim Adams in South Australia's Clare Valley. Crafted in the approachable 'Mr Mick' style, this is made from dry-grown Tempranillo fruit, fermented for a week with its skins, was then gently pressed, with the pressings separated in order to ensure a smooth silky palate.
Matured for 18 months using French oak before fining, filtering and bottling, the 2018 Mr Mick Tempranillo is a delicious red wine bursting with strawberries, redcurrant and cola flavours. With a subtle oak influence, soft tannins and lingering finish, this is a soft approachable red that offers super value drinking at this special price.
In addition to the wines under the Tim Adams label, Tim Adams launched the 'Mr Mick' range of wines following the purchase of the famous Leasingham winery. This range is named in honour of K.H Knappstein aka 'Mr Mick'; a legend of Australian wine and a former mentor of Tim Adams. These wines offer fine examples of the varieties Tim and the Clare Valley do best along with some emerging, less conventional varietals.
Some current standouts in the Mr Mick range include their Vermentino, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Cabernet Merlot, Shiraz along with a very impressive Tempranillo - these all offer approachable, flavoursome styles at very reasonable prices.
