Ocean Eight on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula has entrenched itself in the top echelon of Australian Pinot Gris makers with a string a brilliant recent releases.
The 2022 Ocean Eight Pinot Gris is another classy example; beautifully aromatic with plenty of delicate citrus and floral perfume on the nose.
The riper pear flavours are more exuberant on the palate early, but the freshness and zing of tangerine builds and provides nice length, leaving a crisp, refined & fresh finish. Some nice texture derived from ageing in French oak, gives this delicious Pinot Gris a nice contrast to the delicate aromas on the nose.
