Best Victorian Shiraz Trophy - Royal Melbourne Wine Show 2019
This 2018 Paringa Peninsula Shiraz is another outstanding example of Mornington Peninsula Shiraz from this esteemed producer. A winner of the Best Victorian Shiraz Trophy at the 2019 Royal Melbourne Wine Show, this shows the lofty heights cool-climate Mornington Peninsula Shiraz is capable of reaching.
Containing around 5% viognier, which was co-fermented with the shiraz, the bouquet offers spicy blackberry fruit along with the lifted floral viognier aromatics. The palate delivers plenty of black fruits, black pepper and fine grained tannins. A medium bodied Mornington Peninsula Shiraz with texture and power, but a lovely fineness that speaks of its cool climate origin.
"93 Points. A fluid, spicy, meaty shiraz with cherry-plum flavours washing attractively throughout and undergrowth notes sliding beneath. You could say that it's built on acidity but there's so much going on that you could say that it's built on many things. Lovely red to drink. 13.5% alc. Drink by 2027"- Campbell Mattinson, winecompanion.com.au.
