The 2015 St Henri Shiraz is another cracking example of the St Henri; an extraordinary multi South Australian regional blend with McLaren Vale, Robe, The Peninsulas, Barossa Valley, Wrattonbully, Adelaide Hills and Mt Benson all represented. As it usual for St Henri, a small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon (7% in this case) is added to improve structure, however the focal point remains Shiraz.
"95 Points. 93% shiraz, 7% cabernet sauvignon from McLaren Vale, Robe, The Peninsulas, Barossa Valley, Wrattonbully, Adelaide Hills and Mount Benson, matured for 12 months in 50+yo large oak vats. Deep crimson-purple; an almost tarry note lurks in the blackcurrant, tapenade and earth of the bouquet; there is a torrent of flavour, richer yet cooler than many '15s. Price: $135.00 Date when Tasted: 28 Aug 2018 Alcohol: 14.5 % Drink By: 2045 Closure: Cork" - James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au.
