94 Points | "Very nice"- Gary Walsh
Located in the heart of Western Australia’s renowned Margaret River wine region, Pierro has a viticultural pedigree second to none. Owned and managed by Dr Mike Peterkin, Pierro is widely considered one of Australia's leading Chardonnay makers, and notably produced the first Sauvignon Blanc / Semillon blend in Australia.
The 2025 Pierro LTC is another benchmark example of this famous Margaret River style, which is sure to please the many fans of this hugely popular Margaret River white. Fresh, delicate and vibrant fruit aromas and flavours, this blend of Semillon (45%), Sauvignon Blanc (32%) and Chardonnay 23%), sees a small amount of barrel ferment that adds a creamy texture. Plenty of passionfruit and citrus flavours on the palate with a subtle hint of cut grass. Another intense, precise and minerally example of LTC with crisp fruit extending to a long finish.
"94 Points. Semillon(45%), Sauvignon Blanc (32%), Chardonnay(23%). As far as I know, Pierro is probably the only producer who adds Chardonnay to the classic SSB blend. And it works. This is a great release. It’s juicy but stays tight and balanced. Lime, green apple, melon, bright acidity, a very subtle herbal/grassy flavour, fine chalky grip, a dollop of vanilla yoghourt, with a limey finish of excellent length. Very nice. 13.5% alc. $40.
