Place of Changing Winds is one of the most impressive new winemaking ventures to emerge for some time. Based at a single site in the Macedon Ranges of Victoria, Place of Changing Winds also produces some impressive Syrah from the Heathcote region along with Syrah and Marsanne from the Harcourt area.
The 2024 Place of Changing Winds Syrah No.2 is produced from a blend of 30% Harcourt Syrah, grown on pure sandy granitic soils, with 70% Heathcote Syrah from the Cambrian soils of the Mount Camel Range.
Opening with lovely lifted floral aromatics, the medium-bodied palate offers plenty of vibrant red and purple fruits, savoury undertones and subtle spice. A beautifully poised and elegant Syrah, this is high quality drinking from this ultra impressive producer.
