Spinifex is the project of New Zealand-born Peter Schell, a Roseworthy graduate who had spent several vintages working in the south of France prior to establishing Spinifex. Given his time working in southern France, a focus on Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro and Cinsault was a natural direction for Schell's winemaking.
Spinifex Rosé is one of the leading examples of Australian Rosé and the 2024 is another impressive release. This year, the blend comprises comprises Grenache (62%) and Mataro (38%) sourced from four dry-grown sites in Angaston, Ebenezer, Vine Vale and the southern end of the Bethany foothills. Full, pure flavoured and vinous with great width and length through the palate, this is sure to appeal to the many fans this wine already has.
