TarraWarra Estate has some of the oldest Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines in the Yarra Valley and has firmly established itself as one of the region's star producers. Creating wines with a minimal intervention, the quality of wines continues to soar under the winemaking of Sarah Fagan.
TarraWarra's Estate Chardonnay is made from 100% Estate grown fruit, which are handpicked and nurtured with a focus on varietal expression. Pale straw colour, indicative of its freshness and youth. Initial aromatics of citrus & sea spray, give way to subtle notes of white flowers & a subtle hint of roasted hazelnuts. Refreshing flavours centred around citrus fruits, slight saline notes and background white flowers. Some subtle notes of just ripe white nectarine help give grip and texture to the palate. A chalky drive through the palate aids in length, drive and freshness.
"93 Points. Very nice, is the gist. Does chardonnay justice in softness, freshness, cut of minerality, inherent stone fruit, apple, green pineapple, citrus fruit characters, savouriness of woody spices and some vanilla wafer and nougat notes for good measure. Flows well, feels set to a pleasing medium weight, refreshing too. Easy as, good times. 12.5% alc. Drink: 2026 - 2030. Screwcap"- Mike Bennie, The Wine Front.
