Delicious Organic Rosé
Tellurian Wines is one of the rising stars of the Heathcote wine region, with the quality of wines continuing to impress. The fruit for the 2019 Tellurian Grenache Rosé was sourced from Tellurian's own vineyard growing in Heathcote's Cambrian soils formed over 500 million years.
Inspired by the light, dry, savoury roses from Provence, the 2019 Tellurian Rosé offers fresh aromas of red berry, cranberry, redcurrant that are complemented by savoury, flinty mineral notes. Red berry fruit flavours carry onto the palate and combine with dry, savoury, soft chalky texture. A delicious organic Heathcote Rosé from Tellurian that offers superb drinking over the warmer months.
"93 Points. A right old mix of fruit here, being: Shiraz 50%, Nero d’Avola 22%, Grenache 15% and Mourvèdre 13%. Offers gentle red fruit against something like a flint and dried herb backdrop. Bright and fresh line of acidity zips across the palate, casting a textural shadow with it. There's spice that adds to the depth and interest, gentle phenolics adding to that. Complexity, interest, downright drinkability. Assured winemaking for sure. Get into it. $23 13.2% Screwcap"- Stuart Robinson, The Vinsomniac.
"Pink wines are all the rage, and the general quality of the Australian new wave style is excellent. This example, made by Tobias Ansted, who once headed up the team at Balgownie, is a blend of shiraz, grenache, nero d’Avola and mourvèdre grown in Victoria’s emerging Heathcote region. Tellurian is a quality-oriented operation and it shows. Colour is pale and shiny, and the nose has a savoury mix of leesy ferment aromas, redcurrant fruit, spice and stony ground. It tastes very dry with fine texture and a lip-smacking tang. Fresh and quenching on a hot evening. (Screwcap) Score 90 ★★★★ 13.2% alc. Ageing: No need Food: Prosciutto and figs"- Ralph Kyte-Powell, The Real Review.
The team at Tellurian headed by the highly acclaimed winemaker, Tobias Ansted, produce some of the region's finest examples of Shiraz. Tellurian's Heathcote Pastiche Shiraz is produced from grapes sourced from the Touhey family vineyard that are blended with Tellurian's own estate vineyard.
Tellurian's flagship 'Tranter' Heathcote Shiraz is produced solely from fruit from their own vineyard on Tranter Road, Toolleen, on the western side of the Mt Camel range. The vineyard is planted on the deep, rich, Cambrian soil for which the region is renowned, and we believe this is a major contributor to the flavour intensity and richness of the wine.
Over the past couple of year's Tellurian's wines have received wide-spread acclaim, firmly establishing themselves as a rising star of the Heathcote wine region.
