Made from estate grown Shiraz, grenache, nero d'avola and mourvèdre, the grapes were hand picked and gently whole bunch pressed, then the juice was fermented in seasoned French oak barrels and stainless steel tanks. The wine remained on yeast lees in barrel and tank with regular stirring for three months prior to bottling.
Pale salmon colour with rose hues. Fresh aromas red berry, cranberry, red currant are complimented by savoury mineral characters of flinty and struck match. Red berry fruit flavours carry onto the palate and combine with dry, savoury, soft chalky texture.
The team at Tellurian headed by the highly acclaimed winemaker, Tobias Ansted, produce some of the region's finest examples of Shiraz. Tellurian's Heathcote Pastiche Shiraz is produced from grapes sourced from the Touhey family vineyard that are blended with Tellurian's own estate vineyard.
Tellurian's flagship 'Tranter' Heathcote Shiraz is produced solely from fruit from their own vineyard on Tranter Road, Toolleen, on the western side of the Mt Camel range. The vineyard is planted on the deep, rich, Cambrian soil for which the region is renowned, and we believe this is a major contributor to the flavour intensity and richness of the wine.
Over the past couple of year's Tellurian's wines have received wide-spread acclaim, firmly establishing themselves as a rising star of the Heathcote wine region.
