Located on the western slopes of Mt Camel Range, Tellurian is undoubtedly one of the rising stars of the Heathcote wine region. The 2017 Tellurian Tranter Shiraz is another superb example of Heathcote Shiraz; a wonderfully approachable red wine with excellent weight, some lovely bright red fruit and dark plum flavours and a silky mouthfeel supported by some soft, high quality tannins. Another delicious Tellurian Heathcote Shiraz that will only strengthen the reputation of this winery.
The team at Tellurian headed by the highly acclaimed winemaker, Tobias Ansted, produce some of the region's finest examples of Shiraz. Tellurian's Heathcote Pastiche Shiraz is produced from grapes sourced from the Touhey family vineyard that are blended with Tellurian's own estate vineyard.
Tellurian's flagship 'Tranter' Heathcote Shiraz is produced solely from fruit from their own vineyard on Tranter Road, Toolleen, on the western side of the Mt Camel range. The vineyard is planted on the deep, rich, Cambrian soil for which the region is renowned, and we believe this is a major contributor to the flavour intensity and richness of the wine.
Over the past couple of year's Tellurian's wines have received wide-spread acclaim, firmly establishing themselves as a rising star of the Heathcote wine region.
