This 2019 The Lane Block 5 Shiraz is another brilliant example of Adelaide Hills Shiraz; beautifully perfumed and approachable, the palate is intensely flavoured with red fruit and dark chocolate flavours and spice, all sitting on a medium-bodied palate. A lovely drinking Shiraz that offers plenty of appeal in the short to medium term.
"Adelaide Hills shiraz, a varied category by nature of its topography, is a happy hunting ground for those looking for reds that are ripe and bold but also spice-driven. This is ripe and mid-weight with plenty of spice. Black pepper, florals, woodsy spice territory. Black cherry too, tipping into plum, tipping slightly into smoked meat. Texture is silken, tannin is fine, drinkability is (very) high. 93 Points Tasted: Oct20 13.5% alc. $30 Screwcap Drink: 2020 - 2027"- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
