Very limited stocks - 2018 Tim Adams Shiraz available here
Tim Adams is a star winery of South Australia's Clare Valley, producing benchmark examples of the region's hero varietals. This 2017 Tim Adams Shiraz is made from a blend of four Clare Valley vineyards, which has produced a wine with strong regional and varietal definition. This delicious Clare Valley Shiraz delivers powerful flavours of blackberry, mulberry and dark cherry.
Further complexity is contributed by 24 months of American oak maturation, while the mid palate is soft and approachable with subtle tannins adding structure. Another super value Clare Valley Shiraz offering from Tim Adams that's deserving of the plenty of attention it's been receiving.
"93 Points. Deep, youthful red-purple colour; spicy aromas with a twist of pepper; full-bodied, dense and concentrated to taste. A big, solid, brawny shiraz with plenty of grip and drive. This is extreme value: other wineries might charge double the price. You get a lot of wine for your money! $26. Screw-cap; 14.8% alc. Ageing? Drink for 15+ years."- Huon Hooke, goodfood.com.au, October 26, 2020.
"It sees American oak and it’s usually made in a generous style. This release is true to form. They never really miss with this wine. Vanilla, cream, toast, plum and mint characters roll attractively through the palate. It offers good, solid power without being overcooked. There’s a fair amount of oak influence but it works in context. If you’re a fan of Tim Adams Shiraz, you’ll be a fan of this release. 92 Points Tasted: Oct20 14.8% alc. $26 Screwcap Drink: 2020 - 2027+" - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
In addition to the wines under the Tim Adams label, Tim Adams launched the 'Mr Mick' range of wines following the purchase of the famous Leasingham winery. This range is named in honour of K.H Knappstein aka 'Mr Mick'; a legend of Australian wine and a former mentor of Tim Adams. These wines offer fine examples of the varieties Tim and the Clare Valley do best along with some emerging, less conventional varietals.
Some current standouts in the Mr Mick range include their Vermentino, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Cabernet Merlot, Shiraz along with a very impressive Tempranillo - these all offer approachable, flavoursome styles at very reasonable prices.
