Toolangi has long been regarded as one of the Yarra Valley's finest wineries, with the wines continuing to reach impressive heights under chief winemaker Kaspar Hermann. Hermann's 'site-first' approach allows the vintage and place to dictate rather than forcing a particular style.
The 2022 vintage at Toolangi produced the tiniest yields in a decade, however the overall quality was outstanding across all varieties. The 2022 Toolangi Pinot Noir is another terrific value Yarra Pinot with loads of lip-smacking red cherry and juicy raspberry flavours. Finishing with subtle spice, bright acidity and supple tannins, this is a highly gluggable wine that's pretty hard to resist at this price.
"93 Points. This is $30 well spent. In pinot noir terms it has excellent body, it feels silken on the palate, there are spice and autumnal notes in good measure and yet it’s sheeted with dryness, with fine-grained tannin, with finesse. It’s exceptionally easy to be a fan. It’s dry, contained and generous at once. Buy. Tasted: Jun23 13.4% alc. $30 Screwcap Drink: 2023 - 2028"- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
