Toolangi Vineyards have a clear and seemingly simple strategy; grow and source the highest quality Yarra Valley grapes and put them in the hands of the best winemaker for each varietal. This has served Toolangi well and today it stands as one of the star wineries of the Yarra Valley.
The 2019 Toolangi Pinot Noir is another terrific value Yarra Pinot with loads of lip-smacking red cherry and juicy raspberry flavours. Finishing with subtle spice, bright acidity and supple tannins, this is a highly gluggable wine that's pretty hard to resist at this price.
Gary and Julie Hounsell acquired and planted vines in the Yarra Valley in 1995. Toolangi welcomed their first vintage in 2000. As the owners of Toolangi Vineyards, Gary and Julie are firmly committed to making the finest possible wine. Their philosophy involves growing and sourcing the highest quality grapes from the Yarra Valley. Wines are principally made from estate grown fruit and supplemented when needed.
Toolangi produces wine with distinctive personality, each one showing a strong sense of place. Winemaking is outsourced to legendary Australian winemakers including Rick Kinzbrunner, Matt Harrop, Tom Carson, David Bicknell and Willy Lunn. The talented team shares a passion for making exceptional wine and enjoys the critical acclaim of the country’s leading wine writers.
Toolangi wines are a tribute to a great vineyard site and passionate winemaking team, with their cool-climate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz always among Australia's leading examples of these varieties.
