The team at Turkey Flat believe Grenache is particularly well suited to the Barossa climate due to its ability to withstand extremes of heat, aridity and wind. Made predominantly from grapes grown on Turkey Flat's 98 year-old vineyard, Turkey Flat always deliver a fantastically concentrated and impeccably structured example of Barossa Grenache.
The 2019 Turkey Flat Grenache is another top line example delivering beautiful floral and spiced aromatics, bright fruit that fills out into more complex spiced and savoury characteristics, and strong tannins that will ensure longevity.
Already attracting plenty of attention, our limited stocks of 2019 Turkey Flat are likely to go quickly.
"94+ Points. Predominantly sourced from vines that are over a hundred years old. Mark Bulman (winemaker) loves his Grenache. It has a lovely perfume that’s kind of warm and comforting. It smells of brown spices, dried flowers and herbs, golden fruitcake, raspberries and poached strawberries. It’s juicy and ripe in fruit, but earthy and shot through with sweet spices and orange peel. Tannin is a little gritty and grippy, and the finish is long, saline and stony. It’s a really good wine. It will be better with a few more years under its belt. Tasted : Sep20 14.5% alc. $45 Screwcap Drink: 2022 - 2028+" - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
