96 Points | "drinks like a charm" - Mike Bennie
Turkey Flat Shiraz comfortably sits among the top bracket of Barossa Valley Shiraz and still sells for a fraction of the price of many other highly regarded examples. The Schultz family have owned the Turkey Flat vineyard since 1870 and are proud custodians of some of the oldest Shiraz vines in the world (planted in 1847).
The 2018 Turkey Flat Shiraz comes from a highly acclaimed yet low-yielding vintage in the Barossa. A wine of great finesse with generous flavours of blackberry, boysenberry, chocolate, violet, that are supported by subtle toasty oak. Another top-line Turkey Flat Shiraz that will only strengthen the reputation of this iconic Barossa producer.
"96 Points. Brilliant Barossa Shiraz that comes off the back of an unnervingly good array of new releases. This sits just above medium weight with great depth of flavour but a levity and freshness born from fine tannin and bright acidity. Red berries, lots of sweet spice, light herbal notes and judicious wood seasoning. This drinks like a charm"- Mike Bennie, Wine Business Magazine.
“95 Points. Ground coffee, ripe plum/redcurrant and blackberry flavours sweep confidently through the palate, chicory and sweet earth characters carried along for the ride. It’s not flashy or necessarily seductive, but it’s the most impeccable Barossa shiraz you could ever hope to find. It will mature beautifully. Screwcap. 14.1% alc.
