Turkey Flat Shiraz comfortably sits among the top bracket of Barossa Valley Shiraz and still sells for a fraction of the price of many other highly regarded examples. The Schultz family have owned the Turkey Flat vineyard since 1870 and are proud custodians of some of the oldest Shiraz vines in the world (planted in 1847).
The 2019 Turkey Flat Shiraz represents the 30th release of Turkey Flat which again delivers another generous example of the popular Barossa style. This is loaded with plenty of blackberry, boysenberry and dark chocolate flavours, which are supported by subtle toasty oak. Another top-line Turkey Flat Shiraz that will only strengthen the reputation of this iconic Barossa producer.
"95 Points. Deep, dark and a very youthful purple in colour. Aromas of dark plums, mulberries and chocolate, graphite, charry oak and a whiff of menthol. Deep, dark and brooding black fruit flavours, there’s real power in the fruit, but the savoury tannin and lively acidity harness the power and shape the wine very nicely. Very good length and mouth-feel. It screams out for some protein"- Aaron Brasher, The Real Review.
