The 2023 Voyager Estate Syrah is another leap forward; embodying the understated elegance of the Voyager style: bright and juicy, underlaid with earth and spice. A silky textured palate with plenty of sweet red, black cherry fruits with hints of spice, nougat and fine tannins. Offering lovely purity and fleshy concentration, while retaining the finesse that is the hallmark of the Voyager style. While this is a wine with a long life ahead of it, it's pretty irresistible now.
"97 Points. This is quite beautiful. Almost pretty. About 40% whole bunches have been used in the press and then reassembled and destemmed. It started being picked a little early and this has clearly contributed to its brilliance and radiance. Fermented quite warm and worked pretty hard before pressing to puncheons with just 5% new oak. It was effectively made like pinot noir. The colour is a feature. It’s almost delicate but the fruit intensity is superb. Delightfully perfumed with exotic highly scented florals.
