Yangarra Estate is a highly acclaimed, biodynamic wine producer based in South Australia's McLaren Vale region. Yangarra's Circle Range is about showcasing vibrant, fruit-forward wines crafted from estate-grown, organic, and biodynamic fruit.
This 2024 Yangarra Circle Rosé is made up of 38% Mourvèdre, 33% Grenache Noir, 9% Carignan, 7% Counoise, 7% Shiraz and 6% Cinsault. All fruit was hand-picked, with each variety individually pressed to tank and aged on lees in stainless steel for 2 months before final maturation in old French oak barrels for a total of 5 months before blending. The result is a crisp, juicy Rosé with lovely strawberry aromas and a juicy palate with impressive balance and length.
"95 Points. 38/ 33/ 9/ 7/ 7/ 6% mourvèdre/ grenache/ carignan/ counoise/ shiraz/ cinsault; steel ferment, then five months in older oak. A come-hither colour and classically dry, but there’s a succulent sweetness to the fruit flavours, allied with a textural pliancy. The acidity offers freshness but is also soft enough for that texture to play out. Poached strawberry, watermelon, white cherry, rosehip, musk and freshly ground cinnamon, all elegantly reflected. There’s clearly a lot of thought to the flavour and shape, but you’d be forgiven for focusing on the deliciousness."- Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion.
