95 Points - Jane Faulkner
Utilising their vineyard and state-of-the-art winery located in Tuerong, Yabby Lake has established an enviable reputation for producing some of the finest wines on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. Led by the highly credentialed winemaker Tom Carson, Yabby Lake's philosophy is to craft wines that speak of their unique site and are reflective of the season in which they were grown.
The 2024 Yabby Lake Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is a masterful reflection of the Mornington Peninsula’s cool-climate elegance. This vintage bursts with fragrant aromas of bright red cherry, wild strawberry, and subtle floral lift. The palate is characterized by incredible purity and silkiness, underpinned by fine-grained tannins and a characteristic mineral backbone. It is a precise, sophisticated wine that captures the unique personality of the vineyard with exceptional length and poise.
"95 Points. Quite a hedonistic offering with gorgeous cherry fruit that comes all spiced up and matched to supple, fine tannins and driving acidity. It starts with heady aromatics, rhubarb compote and nutty, woodsy, charry oak while a flood of sweet fruit flows across the fuller-bodied palate. Highly enjoyable in this youthful stage but will garner more complexity in time. 13.5% alc. $75. Drink: 2025 - 2035. Screwcap"- Jane Faulkner, Halliday Wine Companion.
