One of Australia's true winemaking treasures, Mount Mary was a key driver in the rebirth of the Yarra Valley in the early 1970's after nearly 50 years without viticultural activity. Today, in the words of James Halliday, "its star shines brighter than that of any of the 174 wineries in the valley".
Mount Mary's giant status and influence is felt well beyond the Yarra Valley; their Quintet has been anointed 'Heritage Five' status in Langton's Classification of Fine Wine VII. Cementing the Bordeaux blend’s position as "one of Australia’s five greatest wines", it sits in rare company with Penfolds Grange, Henschke Hill of Grace, Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay and Wendouree Shiraz.
Mount Mary's Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are also considered some of the finest examples made in Australia, with the very limited stocks quickly selling out upon their annual release.
