Riposte 'The Dagger' Pinot Noir has been a long-time favourite of ours as the personal project of the highly credentialed Tim Knappstein, who has now completed over 60 vintages.
The 2025 Riposte The Dagger Pinot Noir is another vibrant, flavoursome Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir brimming with dark cherry, berry fruit, exotic spice and soft, subtle tannin. Ready to be enjoyed now, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value Australian Pinot Noir on the market.
"From a warm, dry and early vintage, this new release sits more in a savoury pocket than straight out fruit bomb territory, exhibiting kitchen garden aromas, thyme especially, through to native foliage, saltbush, and more exotic Boronia, delicate and seductive, tempered a touch with subtly charry oak. All this settles comfortably into the palate that has a thread of black cherry flavour, echoing aromas, and a neatly fitting, soft velcro tannin grip to finish. Still quite tight in its youth and will unfold with further personality over the next year or two when its crazy value will increasingly reward. 92 Points. $24."- Tony Love, Winepilot.com.
"There’s a bit more stuffing to this Pinot Noir than is customary for this variety, so it will suit those looking for a lighter red that isn’t too light. Stewed red cherry flavours edge into black cherry, peppercorn, spearmint and violets. It’s an easy wine to drink, and to like. 90 points."- Campbell Mattinson, campbellmattinson.com
