Lightfoot's Myrtle Point range of wines are crafted solely from grapes grown on the Myrtle Point vineyard in Victoria's coastal Gippsland Lakes District. Located between the Great Dividing Range and Bass Strait, the Gippsland Lakes District enjoys a cool, semi-maritime climate particularly well suited to high quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
The 2024 Lightfoot Myrtle Point Pinot Noir shows a combination of red berry and dark plum fruit with site-specific savoury elements. Aromatic notes include sage, oregano, cured meat, and subtle smoky spice. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, dusty tannins, fresh acidity, and balanced oak integration. There is a touch of forest floor character alongside primary fruit expression, providing additional complexity. The wine has vibrant colour, good length, and a structure that will support medium-term cellaring.
