BlackJack is a winery we've long had a soft spot for and one with a large, loyal following. Based in the Harcourt Valley in the Bendigo wine region of Central Victoria, Blackjack produce unashamedly old-school styles of red wine; full of rich flavours, quality oak influence and loads of charm.
This 2020 Blackjack Block 6 Shiraz is another full-bodied rendition of Bendigo Shiraz brimming with dark fruits, raspberry and cherry with a nice savouriness in support. Some good quality French oak influence adds further complexity to this Shiraz that will delivery high quality drinking for well over the next decade.
"Take a deep sniff of Block 6 shiraz and you'll be transported to a vineyard surrounded by magnificent Australian bushland and giant eucalypts. It's that evocative. The Aussie scent is joined by spices, lots of them, and rich, ripe black fruits. Discreet vanillin (French) oak provides an extra dimension on the palate.
