95 Points - Campbell Mattinson
Fallen Giants sits on one of the most revered sites in Victoria's famous Grampians region. With a focus on the signature varietals of the region, namely Shiraz, Riesling and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wines of Fallen Giants rarely fail to impress and continue to attract plenty of fans.
This 2021 Fallen Giants Shiraz is another impressive example of Grampians Shiraz. Beautifully structured, this hits the seemingly perfect balance between approachability and depth of flavour and complexity, with quality French oak playing a mere support role. A wine that's fast gaining a big following, this comes with our highest recommendation.
"95 Points. Sweet fruit runs through the wine's generous core, with fistfuls of spice around the edges. This is an easy wine to love. Black cherry and plum, woodsy spice, orange jelly and a mix of black pepper and cloves. It's not a big wine but it's itching to impress, in the most pleasing of ways. $45. 14.5% alc. Drink: 2024 - 2036. Screwcap"- Campbell Mattinson, winecompanion.com.au.
