JJ Hahn is a joint venture between sixth generation Hahn custodians, James and Jacqui Hahn, and the highly regarded Rolf Binder who is responsible for all winemaking duties. This 2018 JJ Hahn Stelzer Road Merlot is another fine Merlot packed with plenty of juicy blackcurrant, stewed plums flavours and hints of clover and cinnamon spice adding interest and complexity. A great value Australian Merlot that will appeal to Merlot lovers.
"91 Points. A deep, dark, brooding example of merlot that will have its fans and, due to a high degree of alcohol, no doubt its detractors, too. It speaks of the region and a richer style that many appreciate. Fully expressive with black fruits, fruit cake spice, violets and savoury aromas. This is not one of those pretty merlots but rather a thumping, shiraz-like interpretation. However the finish, with edgy garrique herbals, is a reminder of some of the grape's celebrated elegance.Price when Tasted
