Turkey Flat Shiraz comfortably sits among the top bracket of Barossa Valley Shiraz and still sells for a fraction of the price of many other highly regarded examples. Owned by the Schultz family since 1870, Turkey Flat continue to be proud custodians of some of the world's oldest Shiraz vines (planted in 1847).
The 2022 Turkey Flat Shiraz represents the 33rd release of Turkey Flat Shiraz, which again delivers another generous example of the popular Barossa style. This is loaded with plenty of blackberry, boysenberry and dark chocolate flavours, which are supported by subtle toasty oak. Another impressive rendition of Barossa Shiraz that will only strengthen the reputation of this iconic producer.
"93 Points. A sinewy, chewy-tannined shiraz release from the 2022 vintage, slick with plush black cherry, blackberry and dark plum fruits along with hints of clove and dark spice, coal dust, olive tapenade, licorice, dark chocolate and earth. Plenty of structure and muscle on the palate with a broody aspect to the deep cassis-like fruit as it slowly retreats from view.. Drink: 2024 - 2038. 14.5% alc. Screwcap"- Dave Brookes, winecompanion.com.au.
