95 Points - Marcus Ellis
Yangarra Estate is a highly acclaimed, biodynamic wine producer based in South Australia's McLaren Vale region. Yangarra's Circle Range is about showcasing vibrant, fruit-forward wines crafted from estate-grown, organic, and biodynamic fruit.
This 2024 Yangarra Circle Grenache is made from 100% estate grown Grenache, bush vines predominantly planted 2008. Made in a vibrant, fruit-driven style this is approachable and intended to be enjoyed young. With refreshing acidity, lively fruit, this medium-bodied red wine is all about juicy flavours that showcase the quality of the Grenache fruit. Another delicious Grenache offering from Yangarra, which offers great value drinking at this price.
"95 Points. This is the younger vine bottling, coming mainly off vines planted in '08. Up to three weeks on skins; maturation in steel and old puncheons and foudre. This is a nice foil to the Old Vine bottling, showing what relatively youthful vines can do on this great site. There’s an open red-berried and cherry fruitfulness, with red florals supported by savoury spice and a foundation of purposeful natural tannin. This doesn’t have the mineral depth of the Old Vine, but the fruit vibrancy and exuberance yield their own rewards."- Marcus Ellis, Halliday Wine Companion.
