95 Points - Tony Love
Nestled in Hahndorf in the heart of the cool-climate Adelaide Hills, Sidewood is the largest certified sustainable winery in the region. Wines are made at their state of the art winery by the highly acclaimed Darryl Catlin, who was previously a winemaker at Shaw and Smith.
The 2025 Sidewood Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc is sourced primarily from selected blocks on Sidewood's Charleston and Oakbank properties, two of Australia’s finest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards. The result is a top-line Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc with vibrant aromas of passionfruit, citrus blossom, and lime zest, which carry seamlessly onto the palate. A zippy acidity provides excellent length and a refreshing finish.
"95 Points. Attention to detail is the mantra here, from start to finish. Sourced from multiple picks across two of Sidewood’s estate vineyards in the central Hills – a two week harvesting window allowing for choice in ripeness and across the aromatic and flavour spectrum. Begins with a vibrant tropical fruit salad note, squeezed with lime juice, covering the exotic to the citrus in textbook fashion, nose and palate in sync. It’s then that the mouthfeel and textural elements lift their game, mouthwatering sensations rising as tempered acidity and minerally, chalky layering drive a long, flavourful finish – with a touch of white pepper for good measure. Enjoy this as an easygoing splash, or more seriously at the table with seafood, sauced well, and even better with Asian spices. Delish no matter when you serve it."- Tony Love, Winepilot.com.
"94 Points. The first of the 2025 vintage, bottled from the notably dry growing season. A very elegant and sincere expression of sauvignon blanc abounds from the glass, with aromas of delicate white florals, wafts of honeysuckle, morning dew atop blades of grass, the freshness clear and abundant. A little lychee and pineapple, too. Indeed, a bit going on. The palate drives a long line of citrus, grapefruit and finger lime right through to the ends. This is sauvignon blanc for sunshine sipping. 12.5% alc. $26. Drink: 2025 - 2028. Screwcap"- Katrina Butler, Halliday Wine Companion.
