94 Points - Ken Gargett | RRP $27
We continue to be impressed by the quality of wine currently being made by Singlefile of Western Australia's Great Southern region. Following in the footsteps of hugely popular recent vintages of this wine, the 2024 Singlefile Great Southern Riesling is product of another ideal vintage in the Great Southern region.
As always this offers the classic Great Southern aromas of apple blossom, citrus and lime notes that leap out of the glass. The palate offers subtle mineral undertones, with crisp lemon and lime flavours leading to a long, clean finish. A vibrant and beautifully structured Riesling that offers superb drinking at this discounted price.
"94 Points. Such an impressive Riesling from the Great Southern region, this has an attractive pale lemon hue, gleaming brightly. Very aromatic, there are notes of lime sorbet, sea breezes and lemon sunlight soap (that bright and fresh aroma that can be so appealing). There are also fragrant bath salts and hints of stone fruits. The texture is soft and alluring and there is a line of oyster shell acidity running the length. A wine with a lingering finish, it is a joy now but will cellar and improve for at least a decade. $27. Drink: 2024 - 2034"- Ken Gargett, winepilot.com.
"Astute fruit sourcing has enabled a lightly flavoured elegant young riesling to be produced. Minerals and spices on the nose with a typical lemon zest influence. The palate is bracing and tight with a degree of tension through to long finish. Bone dry finish. 90 Points. $30."- Ray Jordan, rayjordanwine.com.au.
