A joint venture between Champagne Veuve A. Devaux and the highly regarded Yering Station, Yarrabank has long been considered one of Australia's leading sparkling wine makers. Yarrabank's 'Creme de Cuvee' is a 'demi-sec' / slightly sweet version of sparkling wine that has the versatility to be enjoyed either as an accompaniment to a range of dishes or a post-dinner / dessert wine option.
A slight strawberry blonde in colour, the palate is creamy with integrated acid providing balance to this unctuous yet elegant wine. Strawberry, stone fruit, citrus and pastry characters provide further structure, while balance is maintained through to the back of the palate and finishes with excellent length.
"This is Yarrabank’s “sweeter” sparkling option. It offers just a little more than mere sweetness. It tastes of cooked apple and toffee with flashes of strawberry and toast too. There’s plenty of colour to the wine; you’d call it ‘pale crimson’ but it’s easy to see copper and magenta colours too. It is sweet but it finishes fresh, almost crisp; it’s not syrupy or excessive. It offers reasonable depth of flavour too. It’s not for everyone but it’s pretty well done. Rated: 90 Points 13% alc. Cork"- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
