95 Points - Philip Rich
One of stars of Victoria’s Geelong wine region, Bannockburn’s '1314' range aims to deliver high quality, well-priced wines ready be enjoyed in their youth. Offering a vibrant, early-drinking style, the Bannockburn's 1314 Shiraz is made from grapes grown on Bannockburn's Winery Block, with a barrel selection based on an earlier bottling regime and a younger drinking window.
Fresh and approachable, the 2025 Bannockburn 1314 Shiraz is brimming with aromas of black and red fruits supported by hints of blueberry, spicy clove and anise. Unmistakably cool climate Shiraz, the palate is vibrant and fresh yet still delivers the Bannockburn trademark complexity with some meat and olive notes and fine, firm tannin on the finish. Another superb value Bannockburn Shiraz which is sure to have many fans.
"95 Points. Made from estate-grown fruit and matured in hogsheads (10% new). Just as good, if not better, than last year's impressive and very well-priced release. An impressive crimson purple colour. Aromas of dark fruits, freshly cracked black pepper, florals and spice all precede the richly flavoured, gently structured and very well-balanced palate. This is a wine that will look even better over the next four to six years. $27. 13.5% alc. Drink: 2025 - 2032. Screwcap"- Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion.
