Head Wines is the personal project of the incredibly talented winemaker Alex Head. Making wines from carefully selected, sustainably farmed Barossa vineyards and using organic principles where possible; Alex creates great Barossan wines that are memorably balanced whilst pursuing styles that are intentional and truly of place.
The 2022 Head Red Shiraz is made from grapes grown in several different Barossa vineyards; many coming from higher altitude, cooler sites of Eden Valley. Receiving 12 months barrel maturation in a French oak of differing sizes, the result is a densely flavoured, approachable and beautifully balanced rendition of Barossa Shiraz. At this price, it has to be one of the best value red wines around.
