"Gee this is a good drink"- Jane Faulkner
Lightfoot's Myrtle Point range of wines are crafted solely from grapes grown on the Myrtle Point vineyard in Victoria's coastal Gippsland Lakes District. Located between the Great Dividing Range and Bass Strait, the Gippsland Lakes District enjoys a cool, semi-maritime climate particularly well suited to high quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Lightfoot's Myrtle Point Chardonnay is all about delivering a bright, fresh wine that reflects the quality of the fruit grown on their Myrtle Point Vineyard. Nectarine and stone fruit are quite generous on the palate, complemented by a nutty barrel ferment character, some creamy lees texture, and a nice citrussy acidity throughout the wine. This wine has subtle complexity that will evolve over time.
"94 Points. Gee this is a good drink - as in an all-rounder. Nothing out of place, nothing over the top nor overly complex, just, as I mentioned, a good drink. Lightly spiced white peach, Meyer lemon, some texture and a fine layer of creamy lees. It's soft and supple yet the acidity ties everything together nicely. $35. Drink: 2025 - 2030. 12.5% alc.
