Timo Mayer is a cult Yarra Valley winemaker famous for his minimal-intervention, "bring back the funk" philosophy. Operating out of his steep Bloody Hill vineyard, he produces small-batch, un-fined, and unfiltered wines that emphasise texture and transparency.
The 2025 Dr Mayer Pinot Noir is his signature, boundary-pushing bottling. Crafted using 100% whole-bunch fermentation and zero new oak, this vintage features a bright crimson-purple hue with a fragrant profile of wild strawberry, morello cherry, warm spice, and peony. This latest release has already drawn high praise from Philip Rich (98 Points), and we expect our limited stocks to sell out fast.
"98 Points. From an east-facing slope at 200m and picked a week later than the Mayer pinot; 100% whole bunches. A very bright crimson purple. A great year for this idiosyncratic wine. Complex aromas of wild strawberry, a little morello cherry, warm spice and peony. You barely notice the whole bunches. A generous Dr Mayer that saturates the palate.
