Riposte 'The Dagger' Pinot Noir has been a long-time favourite of ours as the personal project of the highly credentialed Tim Knappstein, who has now completed over 60 vintages.
The 2025 Riposte The Dagger Pinot Noir is another vibrant, flavoursome Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir brimming with dark cherry, berry fruit, exotic spice and soft, subtle tannin. Ready to be enjoyed now, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value Australian Pinot Noir on the market.
"There’s a bit more stuffing to this Pinot Noir than is customary for this variety, so it will suit those looking for a lighter red that isn’t too light. Stewed red cherry flavours edge into black cherry, peppercorn, spearmint and violets. It’s an easy wine to drink, and to like. 90 points."- Campbell Mattinson, campbellmattinson.com
"From a warm, dry and early vintage, fruit selected from several vineyards across the region, this new release sits more in the savoury pocket than fruit bomb, exhibiting kitchen garden aromas - thyme especially - as well as native foliage like saltbush and boronia, subtle yet seductive, tempered a touch with light, charry oak. All this settles comfortably into the palate that has a thread of black cherry flavour underpinning the aromatics and a neatly fitting, soft velcro tannin grip to finish. Still quite tight as a youngster and will unfold with more personality over the next year or so when its value will increasingly reward. 91 Points. $24."- Tony Love, Winepilot.com.
