The 2019 Sons Of Eden Marschall is made as a modern interpretation of the classic Barossa style; opening with lovely lifted ripe blueberry and red licorice notes on the nose. The palate is vibrant, juicy and fresh, while offering the depth, fruit-weight and oak you'd expect in a high-quality Barossa Shiraz.
A Shiraz that offers sensational value drinking in its youth, this is likely to only get better over the coming decade.
"93 Points. Floral, all lavender and spice, blue and black fruit, plus some sage and tar. Medium-bodied, supple, purple fruit, blueberry coulis, and spice, jubey and juicy, but with a savoury edge. Tannin is fine and dense, a gentle grip and grain, with flowers and dark chocolate running long on a bold finish. Fun, sweetish, but moreish. Tasted: Aug20. 14.5% alc. $29 Screwcap Drink: 2020 - 2026" - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front.
Sons of Eden is one of the Barossa's brightest young wineries, committed to delivering wines with flavour and personality from vineyards throughout this famous wine region.
Sons of Eden takes its name from the two partners; Winemaker Corey Ryan and Viticulturist Simon Cowham, who both learned and refined their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley.
The team focusses on varieties that the Barossa produces to the highest standards, including Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre from the Barossa Valley as well as Riesling from the Eden Valley.
Sons of Eden wines are crafted using carefully managed and selected fruit as well as a mixture of traditional and modern winemaking techniques. Current standouts include the great value Kennedy GSM, Pumpa Cabernet and Marschall Shiraz, while the Zephyrus Shiraz is an outstanding Shiraz made from a combination of Eden and Barossa Valley fruit.
