Halliday Wine Of The Year | 99 Points
Please note these are half bottle format (375ml)
Yangarra Estate is a biodynamic wine producer based in South Australia's McLaren Vale region. The Yangarra philosophy centres around producing wines solely from its single-vineyard estate and the property is devoted to the best grape varieties of the southern Rhone.
The highly acclaimed 2021 Yangarra Old Vine Grenache shows the lofty heights McLaren Vale Grenache is capable of reaching. Sourced exclusively from the 17 hectares of un-irrigated bush vines planted in 1946, this is a complex, perfumed and elegant wine with a trademark tannin structure. Declared 'Wine Of The Year' in the 2024 Halliday Wine Companion, suffice to say our very limited stocks of these 375ml half bottles will go quickly.
"99 Points. Grenache Of the Year and Wine Of The Year. Score awarded by the Halliday tasting panel and the annual Awards judging. JH writes; Bright clear though deep crimson hue; scented/ perfumed, and I'm gone for all money without even tasting it. And I haven't fooled myself. Except why on earth is it only $45? Its red fruit sundae glistens with dew drops on a spider's web, yet also has a savoury echo towards the finish. Screw cap. 14.% alc. Drink: 2023 - 2041. $45"- Panel Decision, Halliday Wine Companion 2024.
