One of the Barossa Valley's finest wineries, Turkey Flat have been in recent red hot form even by their lofty standards. Turkey Flat select source blocks for spice and lift, to deliver a Butchers Block Shiraz that represents a fresher, more layered version of Barossa Valley Shiraz.
The 2023 Turkey Flat Butchers Block Shiraz is a delicious, medium-bodied Barossa Shiraz with plenty of juicy dark berry fruits, blueberries and violets notes. A soft well structured red wine with supple tannins, this has wide appeal in the short to medium term.
"A great wine year after year!!! deep purple almost black in colour, big lifted aromas of red berries & plums with a splash of vanillin oak. Magnificent rich, round, silky smooth palate with lashings of delightful, vibrant flavours & a long lingering finish. Truly Outstanding!"- Dan Traucki, winelines.com.au.
"93 Points. Yes, there is still a Butcher’s Block in the old restored blue stone cellar door on the property. I like this wine for its vibrancy and fresh fruit characters, and it’s been designed to suit drinking in the short to medium term. Has a nice plummy savoury combination with a little dollop of dark chocolate and fine dried herbs, slightly sage bush character to finish. It’s a complete wine, harmoniously balanced with fine, understated oak in support of the tannins. Sits together perfectly. $27. Drink: 2025 - 2031"- Ray Jordan, winepilot.com.
"Saltbush and general herbs notes are threaded through sweet plum, asphalt, mint and red licorice flavours. It’s open for business and generous, the mid-palate awash with warm, gently ferrous fruit, the finish both tidy and satisfying. 91 Points. Tasted: Jul25. 14.5% alc. $27. Screwcap. Drink: 2025 - 2028"- Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front.
